2022 ISWA AWARDS

Each year ISWA honours excellent efforts and creative ideas that increase public awareness and promote sustainable waste management. 

VIDEO AWARD

ISWA, the International Solid Waste Association, conducted an online short video competition known as “ISWA Video Award”.

Participation in the Competition is subject to the terms and conditions (the Rules). By entering into the competition, you are agreeing to the Rules and the contestant agrees to comply with the YouTube or Vimeo Terms of Use and Guidelines.

The video should be no more than 90 seconds.

This year’s theme is ‘Don’t Waste Our Future’

1st place winner will receive 750 euros cash + ticket to World Congress + free one-year membership.

2nd place winner will receive 250 euros cash + free one-year membership.

3rd place winner will win a free one-year membership.

PUBLICATION AWARD

The ISWA Publication Award has been designed to honour either a publication, article or book, which is deemed to be exceptional in its contribution to the field of Solid Waste Management.

Participation in the Competition is subject to the terms and conditions (the Rules). By entering into the competition, you are agreeing to the Rules and the contestant agrees to comply with the YouTube or Vimeo Terms of Use and Guidelines.

The first place winner will receive a ticket to the 2022 ISWA World Congress and have their article published in ISWA’s Scientific Journal, Waste Management & Research.

This year’s winner

The ISWA Publication Award winner of 2022 is “The nine development bands: A conceptual framework and global theory for waste and development” by Andrew Whiteman, Mike Webster and David C Wilson.

The publication will be featured in the Special Issue of Waste Management & Research and is available to read here.

 

COMMUNICATION AWARD

The ISWA Communication Award has been designed to honour excellent waste communication campaigns that increase public awareness and promote sustainable waste management. The Award is open for participation for both ISWA members and non-ISWA members. The Award has one category.

Participation in the Competition is subject to the terms and conditions (the Rules). By entering into the competition, you are agreeing to the Rules and the contestant agrees to comply with the YouTube or Vimeo Terms of Use and Guidelines.

First place winner is awarded:

  • A ticket to the 2022 ISWA World Congress
  • A symbolic award, delivered at the ISWA World Congress.
  • The right to use a special ISWA commemorative logo.
  • The possibility to present the awarded campaign at the ISWA World Congress.

This year’s winners

 This year, we have two first place winners.

Oman be’ah‘s winning entry titled “Secrets of the House” and Dane County’s winning entry Trash Lab share the honour of 1st place.

Both entries will be presented at the 2022 ISWA World Congress.
